Meditation
Meditation is a great tool to have in order to cultivate a variety of goals. Through meditation one can connect to deity, spirits, and energy in a completely different way. Practicing meditation can not only help a practitioner accomplish these goals but also reduce stress and contribute to healthful living.
Meditation recommended for further experience:
v  Encountering Personal Deity
v  Meet with Spirit Guides
v  Speaking with Guardian Angel
v  Chakra Examination

Observance of Sabbats
The Sabbats are the solar holidays that take place throughout the year. They include Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon, and Samhain. While these holidays can be celebrated in a plethora of ways it is up to the individual how they wish to observe them. These holidays mark points of change in the seasons and cycles of nature that help connect us with nature. Even taking a few minutes to meditate, create, or pray in honor of the Sabbat can help bring us into alignment with nature. There are Sky Cradle rites and rituals than can be used for Sabbats, but are not mandatory. How a practitioner or group celebrates the Sabbats is their choice.

Remembrance of Esbats
Esbats are the monthly observance of the full moon. The moon is linked to intuition, the ocean, and so many aspects of nature. It is a powerful influence that can be drawn upon at Esbats. There are a range of practices for Esbats, but just with Sabbats, it is up to the individual as to how they wish to remember this reigning force in their lives. Whether through prayer, meditation, spell work, or simply moon gazing we can acknowledge this symbol of nightly blessing. The new moon is sometimes focused on for Esbats when that influence is needed in spell work or ritual. The choice is up to the individual or group as to when and if they choose to work an Esbat.

Positive Spell work, Rituals, and Rites
The spells, rituals, and rites written under Sky Cradle are for the intentions listed under the principles of Sky Cradle Tradition. There are a number of spells and rituals that seek positive change, and a number of rites to honor the earth, time, and the cycles in our lives. It is only asked that the rituals not be used with wrong intent or against another's free will.

Connection to Deity
Deity is always reaching out to us. Seeking Deity is as much about self-reflection as it is about being open to the messages of the Divine. It is a personal, intimate experience that Sky Cradle sees as a powerful experience and one that connects individuals to the Universe. We do not choose our gods, they choose us. For this reason we do not hold one deity above another. The only suggestion is that if an individual is unsure about the influence the deity brings into their lives, or the influence is not in alignment with balance, they not bring them into Sky Cradle practices. Once deity has been fully explored it will be up to the individual's judgment. Once an individual has decided to worship a deity they can choose to perform a Rite of Dedication to that deity within Sky Cradle and within their lives. It is optional but the Rite is provided in the tradition.

Work with Spirits of Choice
In the magick traditions it is important to live in both physical and spiritual worlds. Just as we bond with and communicate with people, animals, and plants in the physical world having allies in the spirit help connect us to that realm. After connecting with different beings in meditation the practitioner has the chance to choose with whom to work with. The type of spirits and the way they work with the practitioners is left to the judgment of the individual. However, Sky Cradle does not encourage practitioners to work with spirits of ill will or violence. Those that choose to work with these spirits will be asked to keep them to personal practice and away from Sky Cradle rites and practices.

Establishment of Altar
The altar is not only a place of spiritual work it is also a seat of personal power within your home. An altar is a physical anchor of spirituality that reminds us of our paths and of the goals we have made along the way. Sky Cradle has no set requirements for altars, only that once an individual has chosen to work in the tradition they establish a healing altar. A simple healing altar can consist of a white candle, cup of water, plate for offering, and matches or lighter. Adding deity statues, healing stones, flowers, incense or other item is up to the individual. As a dedication to Sky Cradle’s motivations a small piece of blue goldstone can be placed on your altar. Blue goldstone is a dark blue with glittering specks in its indigo hue. It represents the stars within the Universe, just as we are all glowing beings in the expanse of the Universe.

Investment in Healing
The Universe is in constant ebb and flow. It moves in order to keep balance. The term ‘Investment in Healing’ refers to giving and receiving the healing energy of the Universe. Whether that is directly giving healing as a doctor, nurse, reiki healer, shaman or receiving healing.  By contributing to healing you are a part of the healing energy in the Universe. This helps to keep not only personal balance but Universal balance.  The Healing Circle is the base ritual to be performed once a month, usually scheduled for the community.  Knowledge of herbs, chakras, empathy, and other healing arts are encouraged.

Honoring Nature
There are many paths that honor and protect nature. How the individual chooses to protect the earth is up to that individual. However, harming another in the name of the earth or its creaures are not in the best intentions of Sky Cradle.  The practitioner can contribute to the Green Movement, recycle, volunteer in animal shelters, or simply set out food for the birds in winter. Showing respect for the earth, its bounty, and the creatures upon it has always been important to the earth paths but how the practitioner chooses to honor that is up to them.

Importance of Education
When new comers begin on their paths they are often experimenting alone. Sky Cradle seeks to help guide new seekers in basic craft knowledge so they can discover and explore their paths armed with the knowledge that will be invaluable.  Those in the Sky Cradle tradition understand that educating yourself and others not only helps the community at large but helps to keep us in balance. Choosing to either be a mentor, educator, or one that is educated can bring the pagan paths closer together. Sky Cradle works with The witches Collective to help those seekers in the Mystery of the Divine Apprenticeship Program gain further guidance and exploration if they seek it.

Maintaining Balance
Everyone is different. This is a fact and should be celebrated. But this also means there is no one way to bring a balance to every person’s body, mind, and spirit. There are many techniques and exercises available to the community as a whole to help cultivate an individual’s person balance. Sky Cradle is here to help in any way to further this goal.
