About Sky Cradle

Sky Cradle Tradition

There are many traditions that are handed down from generation to generation. Yet even today new traditions are being formed from the actions and ideas of the new generations. We build upon the actions and words of our ancestors with each breath.
Sky Cradle Tradition is a collection of practices that aim to contribute to the balance of the  individual. Holding to the motivations of positivity, healing, and balance the tradition looks to the betterment of its practitioners. The  core practices include meditation, connecting with deity, observance of sabbats, and more. This tradition does not hold a central deity or revolve around a certain pantheon. Connection to deity is personal and is dependent upon the practitioner and no one else. In this way, and many others,  Sky Cradle is a very eclectic practice.
The Sky Cradle logo bears the icon of Hathor-Nut, the aspected form of Hathor. Hathor is goddess of joy, celebration, and the sun. When aspected with Nut, starry mother goddess, she is the Queen of the Heavens. Between her horns is the light of wisdom and healing. As a mother goddess and queen, she holds all of her children in her care and nurturing embrace. Although Sky Cradle Tradition does not hold a central deity, Hathor-Nut is an appropriate symbol.

The highest principles of Sky Cradle are as follows:
·         We hold no deity above another.
·         When practicing Sky Cradle we do so in the spirit of positive force, love, and healing.
·         Works done with Sky Cradle rites and spells are for the betterment of the individual, group, and community.
·         We do not judge the spiritual or magickal choices of others in their personal practice.

We hold no Deity above another
The act of finding deity and connecting with deity is a very personal process. Who we are closest to is not always easy to accept or easy to accept their help. For this reason the choice of deity is left up to the practitioner. The only stipulation is that if a deity is not contributing to the goals of the Tradition (i.e. healing, positive force, and betterment of the individual)  they are to be kept to private practices. Deities of death, war, or other veiled influence are not looked down upon and their influences are as important to maintaining balance as any other.  Until their true influence on a practitioner is understood fully as one of balance or betterment it is recommended they only be invoked in private practices.

When practicing Sky Cradle we do so in the spirit of positive force, love, and healing
Since this Tradition is not centralized around a specific deity or pantheon, it is important to have a central motivation. The intention behind Sky Cradle Tradition is to help individuals, communities, and the Universe by providing positive energy and healing. By making these intentions central to the practices a much deeper connection can be made in the community and beyond individual religion.

Works done with Sky Cradle rites and spells are for the betterment of the individual, group, and community
As above, Sky Cradle central theme is the intentions of positivity, love, and healing. The practices, rituals, spells, and meditations are to be used for these intentions. If used or altered for purposes other than intended it violates the core principles of the tradition. Private practices are not under any scrutiny or judgment, all is asked is to use Sky Cradle practices as they are intended.

We do not judge the spiritual or magickal choices of others in their personal practice
As stated, Sky Cradle is intention driven. What is done outside tradition practices is not for us to judge or scrutinize. This Tradition is based on healing, stresses the importance of education, and seeks to help the community. Those that come to it seek these attributes and support them. There is no place for judgment of another's life as they seek healing and balance in the Tradition.
