Healing Power of Prayer

It can seem a little strange to approach the subject of prayer in an earth based religion. From those who leave from the Abrahamic religions, the act of praying can seem an unhappy reminder of our past. Yet the power found within the act of praying is still there for us. Whomever you choose to worship is there for you.
Prayer is a way to focus your will, positive energy, and intent. In this way, it is a useful way to shift your attitudes and look to a more hopeful future. This helps move the energy in your way. Use this power for healing and strength for others.

Jaguar Medicine

Sky Cradle is a tradition dedicated to healing. In this way we will be spreading awareness of the many different ways healing manifests. Some of the most ferocious powers can help to cultivate the greatest power of healing within us. Jaguar is a strong totem for this.

Jaguar medicine is one of integrity and confronting fear. It shows to us our inner fears, doubts, and helping them to surface. In order to rebuild you must first destroy. Jaguar rips apart old wounds to air them out and clear them away. The old predator forces us to confront fears and rise above them. But also to be true to ourselves and walk with integrity.  This is Jaguar's medicine to us.

Archangel Raphael Invocation

Healing Invocation - Archangel Raphael

"In heart of hearts these words ring true,
The healing heart shines through,
Angel of the eastern wind,
Raphael, the healer within.

Brother of light and of joy,
Your guidance I wish within my soul,
I call to you in new hope,
Your peace I take into myself.

Archangel Raphael, healer and friend,
I draw you near and draw you in.
Guide my hand and my heart,
To give of self to every part.

Angel Raphael, healer!
Angel Raphael, guide!
Angel Raphael, friend!
Through light and breath be brought here!"

Healing Circle - Ritual

performed once a month. Usually scheduled, but when it is done is not as important as doing it.

Healing Circle

Purpose:
To send healing energy and thoughts into the Universe to those in need.

Supplies:
5 candles
plate with food offering
empty bowl
small cup of water
Pictures or statues of healing angels, totems, or gods

Preparations:
Set your five candles in a circle on your altar. Leave room for your plate and bowl. Set your cup of water to the side. Keep your lighter nearby. Decorate the altar with healing stones, totems, pictures, or other healing object. When you are ready to begin, take a moment to relax and be still. After your reflection light your candles. Set your food offering on your plate and set it on the altar. Relax and focus on your altar. Visualize the circle of candles linking together in a circle of white light on your altar. Remember all of the healing spirits that move in our Universe to those who are in need of healing. When you want to continue, hold your visualization and say,

"Spirits new and spirits bright,

Spirits full of wisdom old,
Teach to me the healing light,
Let me draw it in untold.
From this circle do heal thy wound,
That earthly matters have undone,
No ill-will may you bring,
Into this place of healing."

Place your hands over your heart and close your eyes. Visualize your heart center shedding light into your circle. The circle fills with light and pulses with your heartbeat. It is filled with your wish for balance and health, for the health of others and the positive thoughts that fill your heart. When you have held the visualization and it is firmly in your mind, release it. Open your eyes and continue.
Hold the cup of water in your hands. take a deep breath. Say,

"To good spirits and honored healers,

I give the cool waters of the earth."

Pour a bit of water into the empty bowl. Place the cup to the side. Take the plate of food offering in both hands. Hold it in front of you.

"To good spirits and honored healers,

I give the sustenance of the earth."

Place the plate back on your altar. Take a deep breath and release it slowly.

"In peace and trust,

Attend this light,
Healing be given to those in need,
In many hearts let health shine bright.
so mote it be."

Keep the candles lit with offerings on the altar for a few hours. This is a good time for meditation, reflection, or personal projects. Stay with your altar, attend to the candles should they go out, and work on something . When you are ready to close the circle, blow out the candles.

"With starry light,

Circle closes this night.
With peace and love,
Merry met and merrily depart."

Dispose of the offerings and put away your supplies for future circles.

Sky Cradle Introduction

Welcome to the Sky Cradle blog and site. This tradition is based on service, fellowship, and healing. You can learn more about us in About Sky Cradle and Sky Cradle Practices. As this site is relatively new, we will be posting rites, spells, and other practices over time. For our calender of events look to our Sky Cradle Calender. We will be trying to establish a fellowship chatroom as soon as possible.
